Cutting-edge technology meets Japanese craftsmanship. With the Lexus brand, the name says it all: It is supposed to refer to the luxurious character of the cars. And that's how it really is.

About Lexus
Toyota launched the Lexus brand in 1989, and sales in Europe began a year later with the LS400 model. LS400 was primarily intended to appeal to customers for whom the models of the German premium manufacturers were too expensive. The NX and RX were Lexus' answer to the growing number of SUVs on the market. Powerful gasoline engines and a hybrid with a generous amount of space embody the direction the group will take in the near future. In 2006, Lexus was spun off from Toyota as its own brand. Further development is an important aspect of the Lexus philosophy. At the Paris Motor Show back in 2016, the company unveiled the so-called "Kinetic Seat Concept," which is designed to guarantee unprecedented seating comfort. The automaker is following new visions with the LF-SA, LF-FC and UX Concept as concept vehicles. Highlights include rear view cameras as an alternative to conventional exterior mirrors, with footage displayed on internal screens; a transparent sphere with a hologram-style crystal structure that provides occupants with all the important details about infotainment and climate control; and unique proportions thanks to the contrast between convex and concave body surfaces. The logo features the sweeping capital letter "L" in a circle.
As one of the first manufacturers of hybrid cars, the brand combines Japanese craftsmanship with modern technologies. The Japanese mainly sell vehicles from the premium segment under the name. Currently, Lexus' product range includes sedans, coupes, SUVs and crossover models. In the sedan segment, the manufacturer offers the IS (the dynamic sports sedan), LS (the luxury sedan), CT (premium compact class with hybrid drive) and - in the course of 2019 - the new premium sedan ES. In the coupe segment, the RC (the premium coupe), RCF (the high-performance coupe) and LC (the luxury coupe) series dominate, while in the SUV segment the RX (luxury crossover), RXL (also luxury crossover) and NX (compact premium crossover) series are available. The Lexus UX, a premium crossover with hybrid drive and gasoline engine, is also available for order from 2019.
