About Citroen
Andre-Gustave Citroen was a freemason and industrialist who, at the end of the Great War, found himself with an empty hall, in which he promptly installed the first mass production of passenger cars in Europe. He christened the company Automobile Citroen SA, which launched its first model, the Type A, in 1919. In 1927, Citroen had 31,000 employees and produced 400 vehicles per day - a record for Europe at the time. After the 2nd World War, models such as the 2CV "duck" ensured the mobility of entire generations of students and still remain unforgettable. The logo shows the so- called arrow gearing, i.e. the double helical gearing of gears. In 1955, Citroen introduced the DS series, which was futuristic by the standards of the time, at the Paris Motor Show and was considered a revolution in the industry. The DS 19 was the first mass-produced automobile in Europe for which almost endless modifications were available. The colour palette alone contained 76 single- and multi-coloured variations. The DS 21 was the first production model built in France with electronic fuel injection.
The French carmaker's portfolio traditionally ranges from subcompact and compact cars to small vans, compact models and upper mid-range sedans. The C1 is very popular as a subcompact, and the C2 and C3 small cars have also been very successful from the outset. CX, XM, C5 and the C6 sedan dominate in the mid-size class, while the C4 Picasso is convincing in the compact vans as well as the Grand C4 Picasso in the vans. The Citroen models are super for you if reliability, chic design and a sporty performance are important to you. With the AMI electric car, you will not only attract attention on the busy roads with its compact design, but you can also rely on its solid performance. The C4 model as well as the DS models open the world for you to a luxurious status symbol with an outstanding number of horsepower and spaciousness. At the same time, the manufacturer's vehicles impress with advanced technology, some of which is trend-setting. Always a pioneer in the field of fuel economy, Citroen offers unbeatable cars.
